  • When is African American Graduation 2025?

    Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 from 2pm-4pm.

  • Where is African American Graduation 2025?

    This years graduation will be hosted by Gonzaga University in Spokane Washington. The graduation will take place in the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center on campus.

    There will be signage to guide visitors and graduates to the correct building but please click here to view a campus map to get familiar with the location prior to arriving.

  • Do I need to purchase a ticket to attend?

    No, this event is completely FREE for students and their guest. However, students must register to be honored at the graduation.

  • Where can I park?

    Gonzaga is nestled in a beautiful neighborhood in Spokane, WA so there is street parking options but Gonzaga also has a parking structure located on campus at the corner of Boone Ave and Hamilton St. Please click here for additional parking questions.

  • Who to bring?

    We are excited that our venue this year allows for more seating so we encourage you to bring your circle of support to celebrate with you. This includes family, friends, teachers, etc.

  • What should I wear?

    Since we will not be wearing graduation cap and gowns for the event, we offer these dress recommendations for the ceremony: dark slacks/skirts and white blouses/shirts and ties

  • How can I be added to the presentation?

    If you would like to be added to our presentation please email a photo of yourself to aagradspokane@gmail.com with your full name and school. Your photo will be added to the slideshow presentation to honor and celebrate your achievement.

  • What time should I arrive?

    Graduates should arrive by 1:00pm to check in and line up for the processional.

    Doors open for guests at 1:30pm with the ceremony starting promptly at 2:00pm.

  • When will I receive a Kente Stole?

    As part of the ceremony, Kente Stoles will be ceremoniously bestowed upon graduates during the celebration. Students must be present to receive a stole-no exceptions.

  • What to do if you receive a scholarship

    If you receive a scholarship at the graduation someone from the AAG committee will be in touch with your next steps.

  • What makes me eligiible for a scholastic medal of achievement?

    Students that have received a 3.0 cumulative gpa or higher are eligible to receive a scholastic achievement medal. Students must participate in the graduation to receive medals.

    To be eligible, students must submit an unofficial transcript by the registration deadline to aagradspokane@gmail.com.

  • How can I donate?
